The Route

Medellín — base camp. Bello, with Juliana & Julian. Feb 20–23.
→ El Peñol — bus from Terminal del Norte. Two nights.

Piedra del Marial — the hidden rock. No tourists, no staircase. A pilgrimage within the pilgrimage.
Quieter than Guatapé. Lake country. The base for the eastern loop.

→ Guatapé — tuk-tuk from El Peñol. Passing through.

Colorful zócalos. Reservoir town. A stop, not a stay.

→ San Rafael — bus from Guatapé. The heart of the trip.

Rivers, swimming holes, waterfalls. Two or three nights.
Where the digital nomads went. Where the magic is.

← bus back to Medellín (Sat) — final hang with Juliana & Julian. Stay the night.
→ Bogotá — fly MDE→BOG, Sun 7pm, arrives 7:55pm. Airbnb booked. Fly home Mon 9am.

Notes from Juliana —

“Don’t give papaya” — don’t make it obvious you don’t know what you’re doing
The roads are well-paved, tranquil, not much heavy traffic
San Rafael / San Carlos area is where digital nomads have moved
Data reception fine in towns, spotty on smaller mountain roads
